Aamuvirkkuna rannalla

Heinäkuun puolella olin aivan sattumalta eräänä lauantai-aamuna virkeänä ja aikaisin liikenteessä. Tarkoitukseni oli käydä Aurajoella katsastamassa Swan-purjeveneitä aamuauringossa. Kävinkin ja paatit olivat varsin komeita eikä muita katselijoita juuri näkynyt. En kuitenkaan löytänyt mielestäni sopivia kuvakulmia, joten päätin kipaista Hirvensalossa kuvaamassa ruotsinlaivoja.

Siinä ne lipuivat Tukholmaan aivan vierestä. Kuinka vaikeaa voikaan ihmisen olla tehdä reissu Tukholmaan? Tuosta aivan läheltä lähtee neljä kertaa vuorokaudessa suora linja Ruotsiin ja koskaan ei tule lähdettyä.

Juttelin kerran erään saksalaisen kanssa ja hänen mukaansa Keski-Euroopassa on aivan sama ongelma. Siellä suuret kaupungit ja niiden erilaiset houkutukset ovat yleensä vain pienen juna- tai bussimatkan päässä. Ja siltikään ei tule lähdettyä. Universaaleja ongelmia siis.

Ohuen pilviverhon takaa kumottava aamuaurinko oli juuri sopivan lempeä valokuvaamiseen.

Early bird on the shore

By a coincidence I just happened to wake up early on one Saturday morning. I was about to go and check how the Swan sailboats look in the morning light as there was this Swan regatta in the city. I went there and the boats were really nice, but as I couldn't find some nice views so I decided to go to a nearby island to watch some ferryboats.

There they sailed to Stockholm just in front of my nose. How difficult it can be to take a boat to Stockholm? At least four times in a day a ferry leaves to Stockholm from nearby harbour and you never hop in.

Once I had a conversation with a German and he said that they have the same problem in central Europe. You have a relatively short bus or train ride to many big cities and you still don't go. It seems that these are universal problems.

The morning sun was behind a thin cloud layer which was good for photographing.
