Tänään on taas se päivä kun tuhannet ihmiset rynnistävät katsomaan joulurauhan julistusta. Tosin sää ei taida olla yhtä talvinen kuin tässä muutama vuosi sitten otetussa kuvassa - sadetta on luvassa. Itse joulurauhan julistus ei ole kovinkaan kummoinen tapahtuma, mutta sen jälkeinen Tuomiokirkon kellojen soitto on mahtavan kuuloista. Mikäli mahdollista, pelkästään sen takia kannattaa käydä paikalla. Mutta jätä auto kotiin - se ei pidä ruuhkasta. Rauhallista joulua!

There is an old tradition in this city - every Christmas Eve they will declare a Christmas peace for the citizens. In that declaration people are reminded that they should behave under the Christmas holidays or otherwise they will be punished. This declaration is broadcasted directly through televison and radio (maybe internet too). There is always thousands of people watching the declaration and the whole place is very crowded. In this picture you cannot even see the balcony where the declaration is held - it's on the right side behind the bushes.
I took this picture in 2009 and this year the weather circumstances are not going to be as wintery as they were then - it's going to rain. The happening itself isn't that outstanding, but the church bells sound awesome when they are ringing after the declaration. Happy Christmas!
